Dr. Kumar Vivekanand, MD (Hom) has recently joined as Registrar-cum-Secretary of Central Council of Homoeopathy, a Statutory Body under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The job content includes to regulate minimum standards of education in Homoeopathy; recommend Central Govt. for permission of opening of new colleges, increase of seats and starting of new or higher course of studies; advise/recommend to Central Government for recognition or withdrawal of recognitions of medical qualification in Homoeopathy; maintain the Central Registrar  of Homoeopathy; prescribe standards of professional conduct, etiquette and code of ethics to be observed by the Homoeopathic practitioners; court cases, RTI matters, Parliamentary affairs, etc.

He has completed his BHMS in 2000 and MD (Hom) in 2008 from National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata. Later joined CCRH in 2009, then worked in Ministry of AYUSH, up to 2016. During his tenure at Education Policy Section of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India entrusted with policy making for Development, Regulation, Research and Popularization of Ayurved, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy and Yoga & Naturopathy. There, the job content includes preparation of drafts for Amendments in Acts and Regulations of CCIM and CCH; examination of various proposals involving technical aspects and parameters for setting up of new colleges, grant of permission to existing colleges; dealing court cases, RTI matters, VIP references, Parliamentary affairs, drafting of concerned Regulations and its amendments etc. being one of the priority areas of this section. To assist various committees/task force/groups set up for specific purposes in the Ministry. 

During his tenure in CCRH, he was involved in developing clinical research protocol and coordinating Fundamental & Collaborative Research studies of CCRH, Extra Mural research Scheme of Ministry to undertake evidence-based, inter-disciplinary, translational research studies to validate the efficacy/concepts of Homoeopathy on scientific parameters, ISO and NABH related matters. Has published more than 10 articles in reputed journals. Visited Bangladesh to discuss the issues pertaining to the implementation of provisions of Homoeopathy Regulations and Brugge, Belgium to attend the annual expert meeting of European Committee for Homeopathy (ECH).
